Shower Remodeling

A well-designed shower is the centrepiece of a functional bathroom — and a poorly waterproofed or outdated one is the most common source of concealed water damage in residential construction. Restoration Control specializes in complete shower remodels that address both the aesthetics you want and the waterproofing integrity that protects the framing, insulation, and finished surfaces surrounding it. We do not tile over compromised waterproofing or failing mortar beds — every project begins with a clean, properly prepared substrate.

Our shower remodels range from straightforward tile-over-backer-board replacements in existing alcove configurations to fully custom curbless walk-in showers with multiple shower heads, steam generators, linear drains, and large-format porcelain tile on all three walls and the floor. We handle all necessary plumbing rough-in changes — repositioning the shower valve, adding a hand shower, installing thermostatic controls — in coordination with a licensed plumber. Glass enclosure supply and installation, including frameless heavy-glass systems, is included in our scope.

We use certified waterproofing membrane systems (Schluter KERDI, RedGard, or Wedi) on every shower project, applied to all wall and floor surfaces before tile is set. These systems are tested and approved for wet-area tile installations and eliminate the substrate moisture migration that causes tile delamination, grout cracking, and the eventual structural damage that results when water reaches the framing. Every shower we build is designed to last as long as the tile itself.
