Individual home gutters feed into this larger system, and when gutters fail — through clogs, undersizing, or improper discharge — the uncontrolled runoff bypasses the engineered drainage and pools against foundations in soil with minimal natural drainage capacity.

Many Lake Nona homes were delivered by builders with five-inch gutters and standard two-by-three-inch downspouts — adequate for moderate rainfall but undersized for Central Florida's two-to-three-inch-per-hour thunderstorms. Our Lake Nona gutter upgrades replace these with six-inch seamless aluminum with oversized downspouts, color-matched to meet the community's aesthetic standards and fitted with micro-mesh guards that handle the pine needle and palm frond debris common in the community's young but rapidly maturing landscape.
